Wedding Season

17 August, 2012

There can't be anything other than the upcoming wedding season that makes me see the world through rose-colored glasses lately. Notice that my last painting is mostly pink, which is a color I never would have even considered to use a couple of months ago. I think the wedding of Sigurd's brother sparked some sentiments in me that I feared to admit to myself before. Yes. I love weddings. Don't get me started on elaborating my view on how complex marriage is, but weddings - well, there isn't even a word for it.

(PS. That last photo is from gorgeous Karin's bachelorette party, which will remain in my memory until the day I die.)

  2. :) Love the pink kitty.
I attended a friend's wedding last weekend and I totally understand what you're saying. Weddings are great! And we just leave out the marriage part for this discussion ;)

  3. I'm getting married in one year on our 6th anniversary and I've been seeing the world through rose-colored glasses ever since he proposed in 2010. And I really love that cat painting. It's so beautiful and I really love the pink 'cause that's my favorite color. =D

  4. Oh my goodness! The painting is AWESOME! I love the solid pink in the background of a very intricate kitty.

As for weddings, it seems like it's so much pressure for the bride and groom. I can't even imagine all the emotions that you experience when you are becoming linked together forever, and then on top of it you have to entertain your guests. Props to everyone who does it, but I think I would be much too overwhelmed to make small talk with people I barely know. Maybe it's more lax in Europe though, I've only ever been to a US wedding.

(Og det nederste bildet burde være målestokk for et skikkelig smakfullt og vakkert utdrikkningslag!)

  8. I used to think I might become a wedding photographer, not just because I like photography, but because then I'd get to attend so many weddings. They really are lovely. I get to be a part of one this weekend. :)
