I found b&w film to be a perfect medium to represent moments from this summer. It hasn't been colorful or cheerful, but somehow beautiful, nevertheless.

  2. I agree completely, the light and shade contrast lends itself perfectly to b&w. The second one has a lovely rosy tint…are these colour film developed as B&w?
My beloved Spotmatic is very sick, and has to be sent away for repair :((

    1. I am not sure what happened at the lab, but I love how this second photo turned out with a rosy tint. Maybe it happened as a coincidence or failure? I'm quite happy with the effect though :)

I wish for your spotmatic to get well very soon. What is wrong with it?

    2. I suspect your lab did C-41 processing on your film, and that's how you ended up with these colours. Lovely!

My Spotmatic has a problem with the shutter curtain, so I'm getting all sorts of exposure problems and dark areas. But I decided that even if I spent 60 dollars sending her to the US for repair and servicing, it was preferable to buying another. This way she will hopefully last me another 30+ years.

    3. Suzie! That's exactly my problem with my Spotmatic too. I was hoping it would go away by itself, but now I see I need to repair it too. What kind of service did you use?

  3. Black and white always makes everything seem so calm and soothing. But I always find your photos quite soothing actually, it's a lovely feeling.

  6. Black and white photos are beautiful if you put some work into them. I don't, so for myself I prefer color:)
