I've been drifting away from this blog lately. I apologize for neglecting to respond to comments. Getting ready for exams is draining me. I try to do fun things and enjoy good moments when I'm not studying, but I find it difficult. I'm exhausted. I'm frustrated. I have so much creative energy for the things I love to do, but can't prioritize right now.

Sigurd says that the feeling of being burnt out doesn't come from being overworked. It comes when you start to doubt whether all the work you are doing is worth it.

  2. Just think about when exams are over though. What a great feeling! I always disliked having back to back finals, as many as 3 in a day but once they were over it was SOO nice! Then you can celebrate :)

  3. Don't worry about the blog until your exams are over - if you are tired you need to focus on the most important thing. The blog will still be here when it's all over and your readers will still be here too. Lovely photo! I love poppies. And good luck with your exams. xxx

  4. What a beautiful pop of color! And don't worry, we have all been there and we'll all be waiting until you get back. Take it easy, focus on your studies and reducing your stress. When you get more free time it'll be easier to blog again!

  5. love love poppies!

just know that it is times like these that remind you how much you love the other things so you won't take it all for granted later when you have all the creative time in the world. :)

    Hugs.

  6. It's ok. Take a break. Or don't take a break, but just post ... whenever. Don't let this be an added pressure. It won't be any fun that way anyway! :)

  7. You know it's ok. I know exactly how you feel, keeping up with the comments was exactly what became too much for me. You start blogging because you love what you do (being creative) and comments kinda seem to take over after a while. I hope you don't feel the pressure too much and get to do what you love.

    1. Sometimes you have to ask yourself what you started it for. I still love it, though. I just wish I could do so much more photography and painting all the time... :)

  12. First of all, such a beautiful photo you have captured!
Secondly, I feel empty from time to time too, it happens with creative people. We cannot force ourselves. In these times, you can read the blogs/books or see artworks/photography of other creative people. this will charge you up.
But finish your exam first. Forget blogging for a while if you can and come back refreshed.
The quotation by Sigurd is so real.
    love,

  14. Oh no, I hope you start to feel more positive soon. These times can be difficult to overcome, but I do find that when I'm exhausted I feel horrible about everything. Sometimes a tiny break from it all and a really good nights rest can do wonders. Good luck with getting back to good feelings. x

  19. I think most of us comment because we want to say, "Hi! I was here! And I like to look at the pretty pictures you post!" We (or at least I) don't need individual replies! Good luck on exams. I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying beautiful moments AT ALL during exam time, even if photographing and posting them takes up too much energy!
