Bye, bye Bergen.

12 May, 2012

After four hours of driving quietly over the mountains, a lot of bewildered driving in Bergen's town center and ten minutes of packing we were all set. We took a well deserved break at Vågen Cafe with a friend and a former roommate. Although all of us know that I no longer officially live in Bergen, none of us felt the goodbye blues when saying goodbye. We know that we will see each other again in no time.

(That being said, I'm going to miss the perfect brownies that my sweet roommate Mari so frequently bakes, and not to mention our almost daily discussions about cultural anthropology.)

  3. Anna, I'm trying to do a blog catch up and I see that life is throwing you some challenges too. I read the last post about how difficult Bergen has been at times for you. I'm sure your future will be good and assure you that your truly good friends will remain so wherever you are, and you will also forge new, meaningful bonds in the coming months/years. This is something I have very much learnt in the past week!
Thank you so much for your kind words, I am very grateful. xoxo

  5. I tried to comment on your previous post yesterday, but these days there is a problem with Blogger vs iPad. So now I'm on the computer. I'm so sorry you had such bad experiences in your school in Bergen. People can be so mean - or just behave so bad without thinking how it will affect other people. I'm glad you can get away from there and I hope you'll enjoy your new place (right now I can't remember where you were moving).

  8. Three cheers for life's next chapter!! I graduated from business school last week and I too am looking forward to new beginnings and all that there is to look forward to post college. I'm so excited for you, friend! And by the way, your photography is absolutely lovely. It makes me want to make my way to Norway. Like now.

  9. And I can honestly say that I already miss you! Right now you are also my shining example that I just have to hang in there, and soon enough I will be able to get out from that little room myself, and leave student life behind me! Lots of kisses, best of luck, and promise to make brownies when next we meet! ;)

  12. What a pretty landscape to drive through! We see nothing but flat land, palm trees and oceans here. Nothing as breathtaking as those mountains (and the empty street)

    1. And you would prefer THIS to the flat land, oceans and palm trees? If it was up to me we would have palm trees completely covering that mountain :)
