A Sentimental World - part one

Canon EOS 3000 / Lomography redscale film. Fall in Bergen.

After having my first lomography film developed, I can't say the lomography movement won me over. I've always been a fan of traditional film photography, so the unclear, low quality results of some of the photos partly disappointed me. I really didn't know what to expect with those exposed films.

Then I developed my first redscale film. I'm still a little enchanted by the nostalgic feeling of it all. Maybe lomography is one of these love/hate kind of things. Which side are you on?

  2. Gillar färgtonen! Snyggt!

  3. Ah well, as you know I swing from love to hate too! I get frustrated by the results too often, other people seem to get it right though. I don't think I would now intentionally buy expired film or a cheap plastic camera, but if something falls into my lap I'm willing to give it a go.

  6. It seems you kinda have to find the right combination of film and camera. My Diana Mini loves the Lomo CN 400/800 (especially in the winter), but those films are unbelievable boring with my LC-A+ (imo). So far my adventures with redscale has given me mixed results. I love your pictures, though! Makes me look forward to the next time I try out redscale.

  7. I agree with you... I started out with toy cameras & I loved lomography but my mind is changing. I still try xpro & what not because I like to think I'm an experimental person, plus I get bored easily with stuff like normal colors but I'm definitely not always happy with the results.
Rescale XR does look great on low ISO settings like 25 or 50. Yours are great, I'm in love with the fence & leaves.

  8. Will have HAve HAVE to get my hands on some redscale film after seeing these.

It always is rather hit and miss with analogue photography but that's what makes it so much fun.
(that and the fact that I can hide my crappy results behind the term "being experimental").

In your case you've managed to encapsulate the feeling of nostalgia perfectly.
    Great job!

  11. These look like paintings! I really love redscale, I'm on the fence with lomography, some people seem to do it really well but other people just seem to produce shots that look like bad photos, if you know what I mean!
