But then again, it is a beautiful view up there. I love the fascinating feeling of being suspended in time, knowing that the place you are going to might be a completely different world compared to the one you live your everyday life in. What a transition.
I know that many of my friends here are from the U.S. and I would love to hear your recommendations for San Francisco if you have some. I'm open for anything, but especially to all kinds of places with beautiful photographic motives. After all, I'm taking with me two very handsome cameras.

ReplyDeletexo the egg out west.
Now that's the kind of advise I like to hear :) Thank you for taking the time and leaving me your suggestion!
Wow!!! I've never been to san francisco!!! but sure, you'll be going back with a lot of wonderful photos great enough to make us feel that we were with you.. safe trip Anna!...
ReplyDeleteI'm on the other coast of the US, so I can't be helpful, but I hope you have a fantastic time!
ReplyDeleteÅ fly er det skumleste jeg vet om (jeg holder heller tale på sparket foran hundrevis av fremmede i stedet). Men om man tenker på belønningen i enden, blir det hele verdt det! God tur!
ReplyDeleteAnna, have FUN! I also hate flying, especially the landing part..funny that my husband loves airplanes, he has even piloted one on a solo flight...scary!
ReplyDeleteThe last time I was in SF was as a child, so I don't remember much except the bridge! Safe trip, my friend!
Chinatown, hands down, was one of my favorite places to photograph when I was in San Francisco. So much color, lights strung across the streets above you...it was magical.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds so exciting! We never made it to San Fran when I visited California - I'd really like to go backs someday. I look forward to seeing the pictures!
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous! You're going to have so much fun!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fantastic time... I am SO excited for you! I wish I was going somewhere exciting but alas I am just off to the local park with my little man :)
ReplyDeleteHave an awesome trip! I wish I had something to tell you about San Francsisco, but I've never been there either.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about flying though. Funny enough, my dad's a pilot. Even though he tells me how safe flying is, I'm still freaked out for my first trip overseas this summer.
Okay, here's the list of must-dos.
ReplyDelete1. Flora Grubb Gardens. Think of me when you go--it is my favorite place in the whole state of California. You will understand why when you get there.
2. Shop at Painted Bird in the Mission. *Amazing* thrift store.
3. Eat: So many good places....Tartine, Chez Maman (French), Maykaddeh (Persian), Serpentine (my fave restaurant), chocolate at Ghiradellhi Factory, ice cream at Bi-rite
You are going to have an amazing time! Hope you packed warm clothes. SF is always cold. xoxo
That's kind of a perfect list, Kimia! Thank you :)(covers everything pretty and delicious!)
DeleteHave a wonderful trip!
ReplyDeleteI am such a nervous flyer, too!!! Not great, when paired with a big passion for travelling...
ReplyDeleteIt will be fine though, don't worry! And you have your man by your side, that always helps :)
Have the best time, and don't forget to check out the farmers market in the ferry building at the pier.
And go eat here: http://www.greensrestaurant.com/
You won't regret it!!! If you make reservations, ask for a table with a view.
Enjoy dear Anna!
oh, have fun!! can't wait to see the photos and i will most likely be asking you for advice since i've been working on plans to go to sf this fall ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is great. I don't know anything about SF personally but have fun. :)
ReplyDeleteAhh, my favorite part of the country!! If you have a car out there, you've GOT to take a really long drive up the coast on Route 1. The farther north you go, the more stunning it is. And while you're up there, visit the wine country. Just breathtaking. You'll be stopping constantly to take photos up there! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteHave a safe, safe trip! I love San Francisco, but I don't know enough about the city to give recommendations. Can't wait to hear your impressions and see the photos you take!
ReplyDeleteAhh, I get so scared on flights... I actually have never flown without taking Ativan, ha! But, it calms me down.
ReplyDeleteI hope the flight was okay! And I hope that you have such an amazing time! I can't wait to see all of your photos.
