Surprise

23 February, 2012

I surprised S with a visit yesterday. I spontaneously decided to hop on the eight hour train from Bergen to Oslo so that we could be together for another weekend. He did the same for me once when I was studying in Russia and he lived in New York. We've never been so far away from each other than that semester, but a couple of days before his spring break I got the message that he was going to spend it with me in St. Petersburg.

Oh... What great distances we travel for love.

  2. I recently found a hummingbird nestle outside my bedroom window. I'm still thrilled. Being apart is so hard. I live miles away from family and I would give anything to be able to hop on a train and see them too :)

  4. I bet he was so happy to see you! It must be so hard to be that far apart... but just think, soon you will be together all the time! :)

Lovely photo! Although I'm not looking too forward to the spring, we're supposed to get a bit of snow tonight and I'm excited! hehe.

  9. aww that is such a sweet story! I feel like I have traveled the world with my husband ( well, I suppose I have haha.. or at least a large part of it) and every time he is away be it for a year, a month, or even a few days it still seems like an eternity...I love the idea of a surprise like that, sounds like so much fun :)
