My Spotmatic

03 February, 2012

I am really excited to show you my latest equipment to capture the world through. I decided to go for the Pentax Spotmatic after following Suzie's blog for some while. I'm a big admirer of her photos, which are of course only due to her talent and not her camera(s), but I've also longed for the crispness and natural look of her photos.

You might have noticed that I'm also a big film photography fan. I love the outstanding quality of the pictures. I love the authenticity of it. And it's probably just nostalgia, but I love to be surprised every time I find shots that I had previously forgotten all about. It's a rather expensive passion, but I feel it's worth it as long as I do it once in a while and alongside with digital photography.

Since I'm a little overworked these days, I've decided to line up a few posts with old film photos from when I only used my Canon EOS 3000 SRL. I will start posting them here next week. Have a lovely weekend everyone!

  3. Ooh I can't wait to see the photos you take with this new camera!! I REALLY need to get out my film camera & take some damn photos! Haha. You always remind me but then five minutes later I forget... ha!

  4. Lucky! I can't wait to see your photos!

  5. I remember my dad using one of these when I was 3 or 4. Pentax is a really good camera. Take care of it and it will take care of you.

  6. Ha! i am working for SONY.. so i don't know what to say... :-D canon is really a great competitor... :-D but i'm sure, what ever camera you use... :-D you'll still be able to capture.. all the good things that your eyes can see...

  7. Can't wait to see what you do with this baby, they are truly wonderful cameras and the Takumar lens is supersweet. I'm thrilled to bits that you like my photographs too, thank you so much!

  8. I remember getting my first camera in 2003, it was a 36mm minolta. I used film up until 2008, mostly in classes doing everything myself in a dark room. Those were great days and it laid a foundation for my current studies, what I find sad is that when I mentioned this in my last class, there were people who had never experienced this, its such a shame.

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving me your comments!
