Snowy Scenery

02 December, 2011

 1) S cabin from the outside. 2) S making dinner in the kitchen. 3) Morning view. 4) Norwegian cabin trip essentials.

When S and I did this cabin trip some years ago, it struck me how much hard work it actually was to live in one of these. With no water or electricity installed, we had to constantly go for water in the well and heat it. The cooking on a wood-burning stove wasn't easy either. Neither was doing the dishes.

It used to be so much fun to spend time at my friends' cabin when I was younger. Although I'm not particularly fond of cross country skiing, the warm atmosphere of the cabins and the spellbinding scenery outside made the mandatory skiing worthwhile.

I might regret saying this in February, but right now I'm longing after snow...

  6. Wow, really pretty pictures. The cabin looks so cozy and comfy. But I get what you're saying - we are used to these things like having a warm room and hot water. Having to work for it can be annoying... :)

Ah, also I can feel you, when you say that you might regret it longing for snow now. I'm usually the same - at the beginning of the winter I want it and at the end of the winter I'm so sick of it, haha.

    Have a happy Sunday.
    Love, Nadine

  14. I can't wait for it to snow... I really hope that we get some before Christmas! Or, at least on Christmas.

These photos are lovely.. how nice would it to be to spend a weekend in a cabin. (Although, maybe one with running water! ;))
